Jacob Carroll
Started his surveying career in 1996 and quickly became the youngest Licensed surveyor in the United States. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, he quickly realized the advantages of LiDAR and Aerial Orthophotography over traditional survey methods. He created Bearing Tree Land Surveying to utilize these new advances in surveying technology, to save clients time and money while providing the upmost level of accuracy and detail clients had not seen in the past. Jake has served on numerous professional organizations, including the National Society of Land Surveyors, American Society of Civil Engineers and is a past president for the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors. Jake strives to provide clients with the latest and greatest in surveying technology, while advancing his knowledge through continued training/ education in the industry.
Mike Madden
A graduate of Oklahoma State University with over 16 years in the industry, Mike specializes in all things LiDAR, Orthophotography and Photogrammetry. From planning to acquisition to processing and extraction, he has developed a mastery over systems such as Leica, Optech, Phaseone and Bentley software. He understands the importance of safety and regulations that come with acquiring aerial data, and the process to work within restricted airspace. Whether it be aerial, terrestrial or mobile, Mike strives to provide clients with detailed point clouds and a higher level of accuracy that goes above and beyond the project specs.
Jonathan Nazari
A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Jonathan has always been driven by a desire to make a difference in the world. Working for Bearing Tree Land Surveying for the past 13 years has allowed him to accomplish this through large and small civil engineering projects, that make communities across the US a more exceptional and dynamic place to live. An active member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing since 2012. Jonathan has real-world experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley GeoPAK, Bentley MicroStation v8i & Connect, PLS-CADD, TopoDOT 64 and the entire suite of Terrasolid LiDAR products. He continues to further his education by attending numerous civil engineering and DOT-oriented conferences, including taking part in the Oklahoma Department of Transportation OpenRoads Designer Standards Summit in 2022.

Hundreds of Highway Miles for various Department of Transportation’s
Survey duties included boundary and alignment survey with topographic map provided in ACAD or Microstation format. Provided LiDAR data and Ortho rectified imagery with 1” GSD.
10,000 square miles of LiDAR collection for Overhead Powerline Verification
Collected and processed LiDAR then provided classified LiDAR data.
700+ miles of transmission lines
Project duties also included obstacle verification, PLS CADD Models, DTM, property ownerships’ legal descriptions, LiDAR data and Ortho rectified imagery.
Over 8100 square miles of Windmill Farms and Solar Farms
Projects included Collecting and Processing Aerial LiDAR and Photos, Creating Orthophotos (GeoTiFF, ECW, MrSID), AutoCAD 3D Contours files, Bare Earth Surface Models, and 2D Planimetrics.
Over 100 county and state bridge rehab projects
Survey duties included boundary and alignment survey with topographic map provided in ACAD or Microstation format. Provided LiDAR data and Ortho rectified imagery.
Runway obstacle verification at Altus AFB
Project for the US Air Force consisted of drainage study and placing latitude and longitude and elevation on all objects within 3000 feet of the runway approaches.
As-built survey of the Oklahoma County Courthouse interior
Project included the location of all walls, doors, windows, vents, and sprinkler system for HVAC upgrade in a 220,000 square foot, eleven story building.
